Evie Rogerson, Is a 10 year old and passionate Optimist Sailor from Hamble. Her dream is to represent Great Britain and achieve a podium placing at the 2027 Optimist European Championships in Weymouth – as part of a longer journey toward one day representing her country at the Olympic Games.
This year Evie was invited to train with a small group of promising young British sailors under Pavlo Donstov, an internationally renowned coach who recently guided his sailor Olha Labrianska to the Optimist Female World Championship title. Pavlo has invited Evie to train and compete with his international team in Europe – a huge opportunity to develop alongside some of the best young sailors in the world.
Over the past season, Evie has achieved some strong results, including:

🥈 2nd Regatta Fleet, Warsash Open
🥇 1st British girl – 6th overall out of 65, Optimist National Championships (Regatta Fleet)
🥇 1st Optimist Class, Hayling Island Youth Week
🥇 1st Regatta Fleet, Royal Lymington Optimist Open
🥇 1st Regatta Fleet, IOCA End of Season Championships
To help fund her passion for sailing, Evie has launched her own business, The Crazy Cow, where she has designed and sells her own sailing coaching product – the Top Tactics Kit. The business has already generated over £1,100 in sales with goal of making £2,500 over next year, with every penny going directly towards her training and racing.
The cost of training and competing internationally is expected to be upwards £12,000 per year, excluding equipment and travel and accommodation.
